Mostly I love The Pandora. I am a woman on the verge of handing over $250 (or thereabouts) for the Squeezebox so that I can listen to it on my stereo. But today they weren't getting it. On my "Downtempo" station, built on the likes of Thievery Corporation, Jem and Zero 7, I heard, "The Politics of Dancing" by The Reflex. Now what the hell is that all about? It gets better. That nugget was followed by Madonna's, 'Vogue". I have nothing against Madge, but there is nothing, nothing downtempo about her. Ok, maybe "Crazy for You" or "Live to Tell", or even some of the stuff on "Ray of Light", but not not not not "Vogue". I get that it's all about surprises, and discovering new music, but really, The Reflex is not among the bands I need to discover. Trust me, I got the message. And I heard it on the airwaves. Back in 1983.
But I wonder if I can ever get Pandora on the iPod. Then they'll be onto something.
